Workshop: The Business of Music

Students frequently underestimate the importance of preparation for the post undergrad market.  Yamaha artist/educator Michael Wood explores the opportunities for career advancement in the arts.  The metrics of this master class encompasses: the art of selling, the marketing game, networking, business politics/ethics as well as the importance of effective writing and time management.

Michael’s extensive career as a performer, educator and his endorsements with Yamaha Music Canada and Mike Balter Mallets USA have given him the flexibility to work throughout Canada.  Michael has presented for both the Ontario and British Columbia Music Educators and adjudicates regularly for Musicfest Canada.

Michael Wood teaches percussion lessons and Jazz Ensemble at the UW Music Department at Conrad Grebel University College.
