Beautiful: UW Choir Concert

“Beautiful“

What exactly is beautiful about choral music and choral singing?

Our program this spring is choral exploration of what we find deeply moving and meaningful in the act of singing together. Is it the notes, rhythms, and structures of the sounds or the act of the singing together itself? Does it have something to do finding a voice against injustice, bonding as peoples, cultures, or nations through song? Is it harmony, melody, or rhythm? Is it the poetry or the texts with which we work? What exactly makes choral music beautiful?

OMEA Visits Music Department

Music Department sponsors...

David Gueulette, President of the Ontario Music Educators’ Association, will be at Conrad Grebel to make a presentation about the OMEA and to answer your questions about a career in music teaching in the schools. This is a great opportunity to have your questions answered and to make a connection with the OMEA.

We will meet in Rm. 2201 (the Paetkau Seminar Room, near the main entrance of the College).  Feel free to bring your lunch.   All welcome: current and recent music grads.
