Noon Hour Concert: Schumann's Symphonic Etudes Op. 13

This concert will feature Robert Schumann's Symphonic Etudes Op. 13. Robert Schumann began writing his Symphonic Etudes in 1834. It consists of a series of studies which are written in the form of variations upon a theme by Baron von Fricken. The lyrical theme is heard at the beginning, after which a very imaginative and virtuosic sequence of variations begins.

Noon Hour Concert: "To Tell a Love Story - Selections from Wolf's Italienisches Liederbuch"

Elizabeth and Michael Lepock will be performing alternating solos from Austrian composer Hugo Wolf's Italienisches Liederbuch.  Anna Ronai, a well known local pianist and our piano instructor will accompany them.

Noon Hour Concert: Uplifting Brahms

The Andromeda Trio was established in 2015 in Waterloo, Ontario. Since then, they have performed for many chamber music series in the greater Toronto area.  We are happy to announce that they are taking part in our virtual Noon Hour Concert series in the Winter 2021 Term.  The video will be released on March 17th at 12:30pm as a premiere.

Noon Hour Concert: Songs Sonata

The Ekleipsis Guitar Trio had their first encounter during a solar eclipse in 2017 and out of that celestial event emerged a new guitar trio. This Canadian classical guitar trio - Lukas Bouda, Mariette Stephenson and Andrew Laughton - meld their diverse musical backgrounds into an ensemble that is at home both in contemporary music and music from earlier eras. All three members have performed extensively as soloists and in other ensembles, both in Canada and internationally.

Online Ensemble Concert - Winter 2021

END OF TERM CONCERTS are an important part of Ensembles that we have really been missing, so towards that end we are holding a virtual concert.  The Balinese Gamelan Ensemble, Chapel Choir, Choirs@UWaterloo, Integrated Instrumental Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble will all be participating.  Stay tuned for further details.

Spring 2021 Ensemble End of Term Concert

During Spring Term 2021, the Balinese Gamelan Ensemble, Instrumental Chamber Ensembles, and the UWaterloo Choirs online continued to meet.  For our listening pleasure, they compiled videos of a few pieces.  The video will premiere on Wednesday, August 11th at 12:30pm and remain online for a few weeks.

Fall 2021 Noon Hour Concerts

We are please to announce that our Noon Hour Concert series will continue this Fall.  Starting September 22, 2021 and continuing through to November 10, recitals and interviews with professional musicians filmed specifically for our Noon Hour Concert series will premiere on the Grebel Youtube Channel at 12:30PM most Wednesdays. The series is free, and no registration is required.

Noon Hour Concert: Pandemic Polka with the Full House Brass (online)

Full House BrassFull House Brass consists of five versatile and creative brass players: two trumpets, one French horn, and two trombones. Members Deb Lacoste, Dave Manning, Randi Patterson, Carolyn Culp, and Susan Follows also play individually with local orchestras and other brass groups.  This concert will feature arrangements of dance music, including waltzes, tangos, polkas, a soft shoe, and more.
