Timothy Corlis has been appointed as Assistant Professor of Music at Conrad Grebel University College, beginning August 1, 2014. He will focus his teaching on Music Theory, stepping in after Professor Carol Ann Weaver retires in June, having taught at Grebel for 29 years. Conrad Grebel is home to the Music Department at the University of Waterloo.
Spring Term auditions for the UW Choir and the Instrumental Chamber Ensembles have been scheduled.

This year orchestra@uwaterloo is holding one of its biennial Concerto and Aria Competitions, sponsored by Prof. David Taylor of the School of Computer Science, hosted by the University of Waterloo Music Department at Conrad Grebel University College. The competition is open to all uWaterloo students, and the prize is a concert performance with the orchestra -- one of this year's winners will perform with the orchestra at their April 3 concert.
The Toronto Percussion Ensemble performed at Grebel's Noon Hour Concert yesterday. Who knew flowerpots and winebottles could be percussion instruments?
This clip was taken from their Noon Hour Concert series performance at Conrad Grebel University College on November 27, 2013. This is also the Gamelan Ensemble's debut and term-end concert. The Ensemble is directed by Professor Maisie Sum. Special guest artist for the concert was I Dewa Made Suparta.
Gerard Yun (University of Waterloo choir ensemle director), was invited to play shakuhachi on Friday, November 22nd, a the Consulate-General of Japan, which hosted an invitational event for dignitaries and guests to celebrate the birthday of the Japanese Emperor.
