Liska Jetchick is an active choral conductor in Southwestern Ontario working with the Waterloo University Choir, Conspirato Chamber Singers, as well as holding the position of Music Director at Holy Family Church in London, ON. Recently, she was the graduate assistant conductor of both the Westminster Symphonic Choir and Westminster Kantorei where, in addition to their own concerts, she regularly helped to prepare the choirs for performances with the New York Philharmonic and The Philadelphia Orchestra. Highlights with the Conspirato Chamber Singers include performing at Podium and providing a short clip for the soundtrack of TIFF film Cinemanovels.
Liska is a two-time recipient of the Ellen Battell Stoekel Fellowship through the Yale Norfolk Summer Chamber Festival Choir. In 2014 she was both the Conducting Fellow for the Canadian Chamber Choir and was nominated for the Leslie Bell Choral Conducting Award. Passionate about choral singing, Liska has performed as a chorister under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Nathalie Stutzmann, and Bramwell Tovey, and continues to be a member of the Philadelphia Symphonic Chorus. She currently lives in Cambridge, ON, where she maintains a small private voice studio.
