CPhA Centennial Leadership Award
Each year, the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) offers a prestigious award to one third year student from each Pharmacy program across the country.
Dr. Charlie Bayliff Memorial Award
An award, valued up to $1,200, is presented annually to full-time undergraduate student enrolled in their final year at the School of Pharmacy in the Faculty of Science who has accepted a position as a pharmacy resident following graduation. This fund is made possible by friends and colleagues in memory of Dr. Charles (Charlie) Bayliff.

Frank and Juliana Wong Patient Care Rotation Awards
One $2,000 award, and two $1,500 awards, will be provided annually to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Year Four of the PharmD program in the School of Pharmacy who are participating in patient care rotations. Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum 75% cumulative average) and a two-page letter discussing the candidates goals for their patient care rotations, how they plan to immerse themselves in the community of practice, and how these funds would assist them during their rotations. Interested students should submit an application by February 15. This fund is made possible by a donation from Frank and Juliana Wong.
Fresenius Kabi Canada Student Leadership Award
An award of $2500.00, made possible by a donation by Fresenius Kabi Canada, is granted annually to one 4th year student who intends on pursuing a career in hospital pharmacy, has made significant leadership contributions to the School, and has a cumulative average of 75%.

Lisa McLean Professional Practice Award
An award valued at $1000, is provided annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Four at the School of Pharmacy in the Faculty of Science. Selection is based on academic achievement (minimum 75% cumulative average) and demonstrated interest and growth in knowledge and skills acquired in the professional practice lab sequence. Interested students should submit an application that includes a two page letter explaining how the knowledge, skills and judgment that they have gained in the Professional Practice Lab will impact their future practice. This fund is made possible by donations from friends and colleagues in memory of Lisa McLean.

Mayer Foundation Experiential Award
A limited number of awards, valued at up to $2,000 each, will be provided to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Year Two, Three, or Four of the PharmD program in the School of Pharmacy in the Faculty of Science. Selection is based on an interest in pursuing an experiential learning opportunity (co-op or clinical placement) in a northern, remote, and/or rural location working with Indigenous communities.
Pharmasave Business Case Award
At least five awards, valued at up to a total of $5,000, are awarded annually to the team that wins the Business Case Study in the third year course PHARM 353 Entrepreneurship in Pharmacy in the School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science. The award will be divided equally among the winning team members. This fund is made possible by a generous donation from Pharmasave.
Rexall Pharmacy Group ULC Community Involvement Award
An award valued at $3000, is provided annually to full-time Black or Indigenous undergraduate student enrolled in Year Two, Three, or Four of the PharmD program in the School of Pharmacy in the Faculty of Science. Rexall established this award to acknowledge Black or Indigenous students’ volunteer participation in communities while demonstrating the values of integrity, accountability, respect and excellence. Winifred Walker Award
An award, valued at $2,500, will be provided annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Three of the PharmD program in the School of Pharmacy. Selection is based on academic excellence (minimum 75% cumulative average) combined with a demonstrated interest in enhancing women’s health and proven innovative thinking during co-op work terms. Interested students should submit an on-line application by February 15. This award is made possible by a donation from Alison Watson to the Canadian Federation of University Women Kitchener-Waterloo Charitable Fund. She has established this fund in honour of her mother, Winifred Walker. Winifred graduated as a pharmacist from the University of Edinburgh in 1938 and retained her interest in learning, as well as her health, until her passing at age 101. Scholarships
Jake J. Thiessen Scholarship in Entrepreneurial Business
A scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding undergraduate student enrolled in Year Three of the School of Pharmacy. The scholarship is awarded to the student with the highest academic achievement in PHARM 350 - Fundamentals of Business Administration and Management. Established by Dr. Jake J. Thiessen, the founding Hallman Director of the School of Pharmacy, this scholarship celebrates the unique nature and scope of Waterloo’s Pharmacy program, and recognizes the need to encourage leaders and entrepreneurs in the Pharmacy profession.
Bursaries
University of Waterloo full-time bursary
The Student Awards & Financial Aid Office administers numerous undergraduate and graduate bursary funds. Bursaries are based primarily on financial need but may include other selection criteria such as extracurricular involvement, leadership, etc.
If you have not been assessed by the Waterloo System assigned bursary process and you find yourself in, or anticipate that you will have, financial difficulty during your study term, you may apply for a University of Waterloo full-time bursary.
