During the Winter 2026 term, the PhysClub hosted several events that brought students together through social activities, community engagement, and academic support. These events were open to both Physics students and the wider Science community, helping create a welcoming and inclusive environment throughout the term.

  • The term began with the First-Year Movie Night on February 12, where students gathered to watch Interstellar (2014). PhysClub provided pizza, popcorn, cookies, drinks, and other snacks while attendees relaxed and enjoyed the film together before Reading Week. The event had a strong turnout and created a fun atmosphere, especially during moments in the movie that sparked reactions and laughter from the audience.

  • On March 13, PhysClub hosted Trivia Night in STC 0050. Students formed teams and competed in a variety of trivia categories while enjoying snacks and refreshments. The event emphasized friendly competition and community interaction, welcoming both experienced trivia players and casual participants. At the end of the night, the top three teams were invited to choose from physics-themed prizes including a plasma ball lamp, a Newton’s cradle pendulum, and an optical glass prism, which added excitement to the competition.

  • PhysClub organized Slime Night on March 27. Students spent the evening making slime, eating pizza, and socializing in a relaxed setting. The event encouraged creativity and participation from both club members and non-members. A major highlight of the night was combining everyone’s slime creations into one giant slime at the end of the event. Slime Night was held alongside the club’s speeches event, where students gave both humorous speeches and campaign speeches for executive positions.

  • To support students during exam season, PhysClub hosted a Study Session on April 2 in STC 0060. The session provided a collaborative study environment where students could work independently or alongside peers. Free pizza, snacks, and drinks were provided throughout the evening, including two rounds of pizza. The event offered students a productive and welcoming space to prepare for final assessments.

Overall, PhysClub’s Winter 2026 events successfully fostered community engagement, encouraged student participation, and provided enjoyable opportunities for students to connect both socially and academically.
