Student-Prof Night Returns to the Huether Hotel

After several years away, one of the department's most beloved traditions has officially returned – the Physics Student-Prof Night at the Huether Hotel! The evening brought together students, staff, and faculty (with some alumni in the mix) for a relaxed and memorable night filled with fun games, conversations, and in-depth physics discussions – plus lots of food and drinks.

One of the highlights of the night was seeing professors and instructors joining students at the pool tables, creating the kind of casual and welcoming environment that makes the Physics and Astronomy community so special. Conversations ranged from courses and careers to research, graduate school, co-op experiences, and stories from years past. For many attendees, it was a chance to reconnect with classmates and faculty outside of the classroom setting, while newer students had the opportunity to meet instructors and alumni in a fun and informal way.

Events like Student-Prof Night have always been an important part of building community within the department. In the past, different clubs held their own events, but this was the first year the event was officially organized by the department, which will allow us to hold events like this every term.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who attended and helped make the evening possible. We're excited to see this tradition back in full swing and look forward to many more student-prof events in the near future. Stay tuned for the next Entangler, and a summary of everything the Undergraduate Experience Committee has been up to for 2026!
