The Department of Physics and Astronomy in the Faculty of Science at the University of Waterloo is seeking expressions of interest for course instructors. Openings for these positions may occur on short notice, ranging from days to months in advance. If you would like to be considered for these positions if and when they become available, please submit an application and ensure it is complete. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physics (or a related discipline), and must have some experience teaching physics at the university level. Duties range from instructing upper year physics courses to instructing first year physics classes for science, engineering and mathematics students for all three academic terms.
The salary is $8,910 per one term course (4 months). Applications must include a cover letter; a CV; a statement of teaching philosophy and goals that focus on subject expertise and experience in teaching undergraduate courses in our curriculum; at least two letters of recommendation; your availability to teach (Spring, Fall, Winter terms); and a summary of student evaluations if the applicant has prior teaching experience. Applications will be kept on file for one year, at which point the applicant must re-apply to be reconsidered for sessional opportunities.
