A variety of scholarships, assistantships, and other forms of financial aid are available for graduate students in any professional graduate program. Most of these awards are for full-time graduate students only.
Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS)
All full-time students are urged to apply for the OGS, for any students enrolled in a graduate program at an Ontario university. Students should apply for this scholarship in the early Fall (September and October deadlines) for the following academic year.
President's Graduate Scholarship (PGS)
PGS is available for all OGS recipients.
Teaching assistantships (TAs)
TAs are sometimes available through the department. This includes preceptor positions (online TA for PHS courses). Contact the Program Coordinator for more information.
Bursaries are available for students in financial need through the University of Waterloo Graduate Studies Officer. These are restricted to full-time students who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
OSAP provides various types of assistance based on financial need to eligible students.
Faculty of Health Emergency loan fund
Faculty of Health also has an Emergency Loan Fund for graduate students experiencing short-term financial difficulties.
Maternity, adoption and day care bursaries
Maternity and adoption bursaries, as well as Day Care Bursaries are available through Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs
Other University of Waterloo and external scholarships are also available for graduate students in the Faculty of Health.
