Preemptive repairs will be made to the QNC cleanroom's high purity DI water system over the upcoming February 13 to 15 long weekend.
These repairs will mitigate the risk of another major failure as we unfortunately experienced this past November (details below).
All DI points of use throughout the cleanroom (in fume hoods, etc.) will be unavailable starting sometime mid-afternoon on Friday, February 12th. The cleanroom will be closed the entire weekend, including holiday Monday, February 15, and will reopen at 10AM on Tuesday, February 16.
The extended downtime is required to sanitize and flush the loop after the repairs have been completed.
All DI points of use will be tested by QNFCF Staff starting early on February 16 to confirm that all traces of disinfectant have been thoroughly flushed out prior to placing the system back in service.
Everyone is asked to please plan their upcoming nanofabrication activities accordingly.
