Honorary Membership is normally granted to members of the staff of Renison University College, the University of Waterloo, or the other Affiliated and Federated Institutions of Waterloo. The nominee must have made noteworthy contributions to Renison over an extended period of time during his or her employment at the College, the University of Waterloo, or the other university/colleges on campus.
Insignia: Badge of the College within a circular border of pale blue, upon which is inscribed the name and motto of the College, suspended from a pale blue ribbon.
Renison University College Staff Criteria:
- The nominee would normally be a person who has retired from Renison at the time that the award is approved by the Board of Governors.
- Normally the nominee must have served the College as a member of staff for a minimum of 10 years.
- The nominee must have made noteworthy contributions to the College during the period of his or her employment at Renison.
University of Waterloo and AFIW* Staff Criteria:
- The nominee must be or have been employed as a member of the University of Waterloo staff or as a member of the staff of St. Jerome's University, St. Paul's University College, or Conrad Grebel University College.
- The nominee must have made noteworthy and significant contributions to Renison University College during their time as a Waterloo/ AFIW staff member.
Usually, the nomination originates from any person associated with the College, including students, staff, faculty of all kinds, alumni/ae, and members of the Board of Governors. There should be one lead nominator with additional commendations as appropriate. The nominating letter should state clearly how the nominee meets the criteria above, with particular emphasis on Number 3 or, if the nominee is a University of Waterloo staff member or a staff member of the other Affiliated and Federated Institutions of Waterloo, on Number 2 in the Waterloo/ AFIW staff criteria. The nominating letter should include a detailed resume of the nominee.
Faculty of Renison University College, the University of Waterloo, and AFIW would not normally be eligible for this honour.
