Journey into the languages, poetry, music, and culture of ancient Mesopotamia through an evening that brings one of the world’s earliest civilizations to life.

What to expect
The event will begin with a presentation by Dr. Amir Al-Azraki and Professor Adil Hashim Ali Al-Zamil, who will share research insights from their collaboration exploring connections between Akkadian and Arabic.
From there, experience the poetry of Enheduanna, the earliest named poet in history, through a live poetry recitation, followed by a performance of ancient Sumerian music on recreations of historical Mesopotamian instruments.
The evening will conclude with a historical fashion show presented by Echo of Civilizations, featuring designer Balsam Al-Taee and Co. and costumes inspired by the civilizations of ancient Mesopotamia.
