Annual Report 2026: Notes from the Board

Friday, October 23, 2026

Welcome to Renison University College’s Annual Report. This year, we celebrate our residence community and the sense of belonging that makes it such an important part of the Renison experience.

As Chair of the Board of Governors, this theme holds personal meaning for me. Having left Lagos, Nigeria, decades ago, I understand the importance of finding community in unfamiliar surroundings. My own journey has deepened my appreciation for education, faith, and the relationships that help us grow and find our footing.

For students arriving at Renison, particularly those beginning their first year, residence offers a welcoming foundation for university life. Here, students encounter different cultures and perspectives, form lasting friendships, and learn what it means to live alongside and care for others. The support they receive can shape both their experience at university and the lives they build beyond it.

Our planned residence expansion, supported by a major capital campaign, is an investment in that experience. As a Board, we are committed to helping Renison grow thoughtfully, preserving the personal care and close connections that make this community special while welcoming more students into it.

Thank you to our staff, faculty, students, alumni, donors, and friends for the many ways you sustain Renison. With your continued support, we can extend that welcome to future generations and help them find a place to belong, learn, and thrive.

Warmly,

Joseph Olubobokun, Board Chair
