The Challenge
Ontario’s post-secondary sector is facing growing financial pressure.
Since 2019, tuition reductions and freezes, rising operational costs and recent caps on international student recruitment have created significant funding challenges across colleges and universities.
For Renison, the challenge is even greater.
As an affiliated college, Renison does not receive capital grants and cannot rely on the same financial resources available to larger institutions. At the same time, Waterloo Region continues to face a critical shortage of student housing.
To remain financially sustainable while continuing to provide exceptional student support, Renison must create new revenue opportunities and invest in the future of its campus community.
Our Bold Solution
The One Renison campaign will expand Renison’s residence capacity by adding 96 new student rooms while modernizing essential campus infrastructure.
This investment will create safe, welcoming student housing; strengthen long-term financial sustainability; expand food service and student support capacity; improve indoor air quality and residence infrastructure; and ensure more students can experience Renison’s uniquely supportive community.
Most importantly, this campaign will allow more students to access the care, connection and sense of belonging that define the Renison experience.
