A very big thank you to everyone who came to enjoy chilli, a candy bar, midterm survival kits, and tons of board games at Games and Sweets Night. It was a pleasure to see you all having so much fun! A special thanks to CFM Program Manager Kim Tremblay as well.

The event began with a delicious dinner of chilli and warm bread rolls catered by Jacqueline’s Catering. The bread rolls were a hit for sure!

Students were free to explore the self-serve, all-you-can-eat candy bar complete with Oreos, Nerds, Hershey’s kisses, and a bunch of other delicious treats.

Speaking of treats, congratulations to Zekun for winning our ‘Guess the Number of Tootsie Rolls’ game, with a guess of 320 ー strikingly close to the real number of 324! Enjoy your toque, socks, and mug, Zekun!

Along with our tootsie roll game, students were given a selection of board games to enjoy ー some more leisurely than others. We had very intense games of Chess, Jenga, and Monopoly happening all around the room, which kept students thoroughly entertained as they ate candy and mochi while connecting with friends.

At the end of the night, students were sent home with baggies of leftover candy, as well as a ‘Surviving Midterms 101 Kit’ which contained various midterm essentials: sticky notes, pencils, highlighters, earplugs, and ‘Boinks’ (bouncy tube fidget toys that relieve stress). The ‘Boinks’ were certainly a fan favourite!

Once again, thank you so much to everyone who attended Games and Sweets Night. Between the event and the take home goodies, we hope that we have made midterms at least a little bit easier! Have a great reading week, everyone!
