Candidate Statements - Science

Kirsten Muller

Professor, Chair, Biology

I am a faculty member and current chair of the Department of Biology. I am also currently the Chair of the Policy 12 (Compassionate Care and Bereavement Leaves) development committee. I am interested in continuing to contribute to the University community as a faculty-at-large representative at Senate through our well-known collegial governance. I am also interested in learning about processes that occur at various levels in the University and the impact of decision making on faculty and departments.

Tejal Patel

Clinical Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy

As a faculty member of the School of Pharmacy, my research focuses on the use of medication and technology in older adults.  As a practising clinician and researcher, I have an interest in translating research into practice and promoting experiential learning opportunities as avenues for enabling successful careers amongst our graduates.  I have served on a number of committees at the School and University and look forward to contributing to the Senate to develop future policies and direction of the University.

Cynthia Richard

Clinical Lecturer, Associate Director, School of Pharmacy

I am a Clinical Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, and provide leadership to the School’s undergraduate program in my role as Associate Director, Curriculum. As Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Policy for the Faculty of Science, I see firsthand how the university’s policies impact both students and instructors, and thus value the importance of Senate. I have had the opportunity to interact with many faculty members through my past experience as a Teaching Fellow. I am seeking re-nomination so that I can continue to contribute to the wider University community as a Faculty of Science representative at Senate.
