Mat Thijssen champions the University of Waterloo's sustainability activities and efforts, in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders on and off campus.

Andrea leads the planning and implementation for programs, events, campaigns, collaborations and communications related to sustainability,

Patricia Huynh leads the coordination, development and implementation of projects that advance campus sustainability within the context of the Environmental Sustainability Strategy and Campus Climate Action Plan.

Supporting the Communications and Engagment programs for the Sustainability Office

Alyssa Ford supports campus laboratory sustainability programming in support of the University’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy and associated Shift: Neutral climate action plan. Alyssa develops and implements programming that directly engages students and staff to raise awareness of sustainability issues and encourages the adoption of laboratory sustainability best practices for energy reduction, waste management, chemical certification, and water conservation, among other environmental areas.

Alyssa brings experience as a Program Coordinator for Sustainable Waterloo Region, a Sustainability Projects Coordinator for the University of Waterloo’s Sustainability Office, and an Operations & Sustainability Coordinator for a private Value-Engineered Solutions company.

Alyssa remains active in community networks related to sustainability, including:

• Member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE)
• Member of Ontario College and University Sustainability Professionals (OCUSP)
• Member of The International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL)
• Member of I2SL University Alliance Group (UAG)
