Queer at 30: Queer Rights and South Africa's 1996 Constitution
This event marks the 30th anniversary of South Africa’s 1996 Constitution, a landmark document that helped end apartheid and became the first constitution in the world to prohibit discrimination based on sexuality and sexual identity. Three queer Southern African speakers, Dr Tessa Lewin, Dr Melanie Judge, and trans artist Collen Mfazwe, will reflect on queer rights and lived experiences in South Africa.
