Where are they now: Nikhil Jagga

A direct line from GreenHouse to career success

Head shot of Nikhil
Nikhil Jagga traces a direct line between his St. Paul's GreenHouse experience and his work in business development at League, Inc., an alternative to traditional health insurance that describes itself as “bringing much-needed innovation” to the industry.

Nikhil had come to GreenHouse in Spring 2016 as an Environment and Business student who had an idea to develop tools for people struggling with mental health. Among the contacts he made through the GreenHouse program, Nikhil met Ben Firman, who offers a very different approach to sales, one that strongly resonated with Nikhil. When he applied to work at League, he mentioned the sales training he had participated in with Firman and it helped him get the job.

He was delighted to work with League because of its strong emphasis on mental health and wellness as proactive healthcare strategies.

He reflects on his GreenHouse experience as being excellent for his personal development.

GreenHouse taught me a lot about emotional intelligence that is really helpful for me personally, but also in a sales role and in future management roles. GreenHouse was also a safe place to take risks – you can risk failure without truly failing. I made a lot of mistakes, but I have since realized how much I learned from those mistakes. They are lessons I wouldn’t have learned on my own.”

At some point, Nikhil may return to his own social venture, but for now he’s happy to be learning on the job in a satisfying career.
