On March 28, United College at the University of Waterloo welcomed prospective students and their families for its annual March Open House, offering a closer look at residence life, academic opportunities and student community.

Throughout the day, enthusiastic student volunteers who live and study at United College led 130 tours, giving visitors the chance to explore the residence and ask questions about life at the College.

March Open House 2026

Home to 330 undergraduate students from across all faculties and programs at the university, United College sparked plenty of interest from visitors eager to learn more about its residence experience and close-knit community.

Many visitors were especially curious about the College’s four Living Learning Communities (LLCs), which bring students together through shared academic interests and social programming. Among the most talked-about were La Bastille, United College’s French Language and Culture floor, and the popular Women in Engineering LLC.

Guests also visited the clubs feature room, where residence dons and members of the student life team shared more about ways to get involved, build community and explore leadership opportunities while living at the College.

Beyond residence life, visitors were also interested in the academic programs housed at United College. Staff and faculty were on hand throughout the day to answer questions and introduce guests to programs such as the Social Innovation and Human Rights minors, both of which reflect the College’s values of community, inclusion and social impact.

After their tours, guests were invited to enjoy treats in the lobby and a complimentary meal at Watson’s Eatery.

Each year, United College is grateful to the students, volunteers and staff who help welcome future students to campus. As students begin making decisions about where to live next school year, we look forward to welcoming a new cohort to the United College community in September 2026.
