Rain or Shine: Future Students Experience Community at United College During You at Waterloo Day
Despite the rainy weather last Saturday, United College was full of energy as accepted University of Waterloo students and their families visited campus for You at Waterloo Day.
Throughout the day, the College welcomed prospective residents eager to explore what life at United is really like. With 68 residence tours taking place, visitors had the opportunity to experience the College’s spaces firsthand while learning more about the close-knit community that makes United unique.
Student volunteers and staff members led tours through residence spaces, dining areas, study spots, and community gathering spaces, while also sharing personal experiences about living and learning at United. From conversations about residence life and student support to stories about friendships, leadership opportunities, and campus traditions, guests were able to get an authentic glimpse into the United experience.
Although umbrellas and rain jackets became part of the day’s atmosphere, the weather did little to dampen the excitement of students preparing for their next chapter at the University of Waterloo.
Events like You at Waterloo Day offer future students and their families the chance to imagine themselves at United, not just as residents, but as part of a welcoming and engaged community.
A special thank you goes out to the student volunteers and staff whose enthusiasm, warmth, and dedication helped make the day a success. Their willingness to share their experiences and answer questions played an important role in helping future students feel at home.
As September approaches, United College looks forward to welcoming many of these future residents back to campus.
