United College’s March Open House 2025: Excitement & Exploration

by Davandra Earle, Communications Officer

United College at the University of Waterloo recently hosted its highly anticipated March Open House 2025, and once again it was an incredible success!

With over 90 tours throughout the day, the excitement was undeniable as future students, including many Grade 11s, explored all that United College has to offer.

Prospective students and their families were eager to learn more about the College’s vibrant Living Learning Communities (LLCs), which continue to generate strong interest. These unique communities provide an enriched academic and social experience by allowing students from similar programs and faculties to live and learn together in a supportive environment.

Visitors also had the opportunity to explore our one-of-a-kind residence spaces, meet faculty and staff, and discover our innovative minor programs in Human Rights and Law, as well as Social Innovation and Impact. The enthusiasm from attendees was evident, with many sharing their excitement about applying to United College after experiencing its welcoming and dynamic atmosphere.

A special highlight of the day was United’s cafeteria Watson’s, which was a major hit among guests, who took advantage of the free meal after their tours. The delicious food and inviting space left a lasting impression, adding to the overall positive experience of the event.

Principal Rick Myers, who was also in attendance to greet visitors, expressed his appreciation for the incredible turnout and energy of the day.

“It was amazing to connect with so many future students and to see their enthusiasm firsthand. The feedback about our facilities, programs, and especially Watson’s was fantastic,” he said.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success, from our dedicated staff and student volunteers to the enthusiastic attendees who came to explore the College. We look forward to welcoming even more students in the future and continuing to foster a community where students can grow, lead, and thrive.
