GreenHouse celebrates 31st Social Impact Showcase; Witness Student Innovation on Campus!
Each term, GreenHouse hosts the Social Impact Showcase to celebrate the amazing work on students in our community. This term, 10 student-led ventures pitched their ideas for social and environmental change and 5 teams were awarded funding from the Social Impact Fund. Congratulations to all of our participants on the impressive progress that you've made this term. You make the United College community proud!
And the winners are...
CareConnect: Awarded $1,00, founded by Kevin, who has been working tirelessly over the past two terms to create a platform for arranging in-home health care.
EchoNotes: Awarded $1,000, for developing a self-messaging platform designed to naturally and easily connect you to your future self. Founded by Josiah, a man of many innovations and solutions to real-life problems.
HydroBud: Awarded $3,000, founded by Alexis and Rumaisha who have excelled this term in growing a self-sustained hydroponics system that grows fresh produce for foodbanks.
PharmaChill: Awarded $8,000 for providing transparency and visibility in last mile delivery of temperature sensitive pharmaceuticals in Nigeria. Founded by Adedayo, an MBET student dedicated to making a change in the medical field.
Venue Behaviour: Awarded $1,500 for providing resources and support for music venues to become more sustainable. Founded by Emma, an artist dedicated to making the world a more sustainable place one venue at a time.
