Mission statement

The Symposium of Neuroscience Research aims to provide graduate students with a supportive platform to showcase their work, foster collaboration across disciplines, and develop their professional and presentation skills, thereby contributing to the growth and innovation of the neuroscience community at UW.

Vision

The Symposium of Neuroscience Research aims to be a leading platform that empowers graduate students in neuroscience. We envision a vibrant community at UW where emerging researchers are equipped with the skills, confidence, and connections needed to advance the field of neuroscience and make impactful findings.

Objectives

  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among graduate students engaged in neuroscience research.
  • Provide an opportunity to practice presentation skills in a supportive and safe environment.
  • Provide a professional development opportunity for graduate students.
  • Promote the sharing of research findings and methodologies. 
  • Enhance the visibility of neuroscience research.

SoNR 2024

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the first-ever Symposium on Neuroscience Research at the University of Waterloo on Friday November 15th, 2024. It was incredible to learn about the neuroscience research happening here at UW and to connect with the brilliant minds behind it.
