Two Waterloo Faculty of Engineering graduate students have received prestigious Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships that will help them pursue and complete doctoral degrees and conduct significant engineering research. The recipients are Ahmed Abdel Aziz of electrical and computer engineering and Mohit Verma of chemical engineering.

Twenty engineering faculty members are being recognized with others across campus through the outstanding performance fund established by the university in 2005 to reward faculty members for outstanding contribution in teaching and scholarship.

The ribbon cutting has taken place and the doors of Engineering 6 are now officially open. The celebration of Waterloo Engineering’s newest building place took place this morning hosted by university president Feridun Hamdullahpur and dean of engineering Adel Sedra. On hand to mark the opening were faculty, staff, students and others including donors, owners and employees of Diamond and Schmitt Architects, the architects of the building, and federal and provincial government officials.

Most of Department of Chemical Engineering faculty and staff have moved to Engineering 6 (E6) building, please check individual faculty and staff web pages for room locations.

Congratulations to the 3A class for raising $500.00 toward the Brick by Brick campaign for the Free the Children Charity. Thank you to all who contributed and a special commendation to the students/staff and faculty who participated in the Charity Dodgeball game.
