Congratulations Adrian Simone on your win from the fall 2021 Concept $5k pitch competition.

Three student teams featuring members from Waterloo Engineering took home $5,000 each from the recent Concept $5k pitch competition for fall 2021.

MicroBuild Masonry, Learnlist and Hydro House were among eight finalists competing for four prizes at the virtual event, which is staged three times a year.

Congratulations Zaid Al-Sabbag, a 2025 Civil and Environmental Engineering student from the Faculty of Engineering (co-supervised by Chul Min Yeum and Sriram Narasimhan), won first place in Waterloo.AI GRADflix Competition with his research on augmented reality and it’s uses in infrastructure maintenance. Alumni feel new role will make a difference to Waterloo Engineering 2SLGBTQ+ community

Michelle Liu and Allie Kennington were thrilled when Waterloo Engineering introduced a senior position intended to ensure all students feel respected and empowered to pursue their aspirations. 

They both feel the new role of associate dean of outreach, equity and diversity will make a difference to the Faculty’s 2SLGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities. 

Spring 2021 saw another online edition of the MTE CivE Design Pitch Competition and the CIVE400 capstone teams put on a good show. A very impressive performance by all.  Congratulations! The winning teams are:
