You will find that there are a multitude of scholarship and award opportunities available to graduate students in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. These scholarships and awards will consist of two main types:
The primary source for viewing external scholarships and awards is via the Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs webpage on External Awards.
The primary source for viewing and searching internal scholarships and awards is via the Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs Funding and Awards Database.
Some internal scholarships and awards will be overseen by the Administrative Coordinator, Graduate Studies, and the Associate Chair, Graduate Studies. These awards are generally based on academic merit and often cannot be applied for; you will be nominated by your supervisor or selected by the Associate Chair, Graduate Studies.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
