The Government of Canada announced the recipients of one of the country’s highest academic honours — the new Canada Research Chairs. We are pleased to share that Dr. Maria Strack was renewed for her work in wetland climate solutions and advances to become a Tier 1 researcher.

From March 25 to March 27, join students, faculty and staff in discovering sustainability workshops, exciting speakers, and fun events around how the Faculty of Environment is working towards realizing the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Afternoon Action is a series of advanced networking sessions that will engage planning employers and professionals directly with planning-interested students across the Faculty of Environment. The event is catered to all planning graduate students and final-term undergraduate students. It is also open to any graduate or final term undergraduate Faculty of Environment students with a strongly expressed interest in working in a planning-related field after the completion of their degree.
The dean of the Faculty of Environment, Bruce Frayne, reflects on 2024’s achievements, including the launch of Environment 2035, transformative student experiences, and groundbreaking initiatives like the Future Cities Institute. He expresses gratitude to the community and leadership for their resilience and collaboration. Looking ahead to 2025, he shares optimism for a sustainable and equitable future.
