Extended Reality (XR) is a term used to describe immersive technologies like Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). Despite twenty years of research, XR has only gained momentum within the past five years. Although there are still barriers to broad use of XR technology, it is an important innovation area.
Our team has recently created an Extended Reality website which showcases a collection of XR examples which are emerging in the workplace and higher education, and provides information about the different types of AR and VR and their practical applications.
