On November 4, 2021, the Ontario government announced an additional $8 million of Virtual Learning Strategy (VLS) funding that builds on the previous $50 million investment that will again be administered through eCampusOntario. 

The University of Waterloo has been awarded $54,470 for a project entitled "Enabling the Canadian Engineering Grand Challenges for Educators" under this latest round of funding.

We're very excited to introduce you to Agata Nowak, the winner of the 2019 J.D. Leslie Prize. The Prize represents outstanding achievement in an undergraduate degree earned primarily through online courses. This year’s winner is many things: new Canadian, wife, mother, full-time worker, housekeeper, gardener, half-marathon runner, weightlifter and now a University of Waterloo Graduate.

Public German Studies, which is an open access research webspace and open educational material repository for German Studies has launched. The site, developed by James Skidmore, Associate Professor and Director of the Waterloo Centre for German Studies at the University of Waterloo, is an exploration of how open education would work in a humanities/liberal arts field.

Online Learning, and the Centre for Extended Learning, are featured in the Fall 2018 Special Learning Edition of the University of Waterloo Magazine.
