In 2025-26 budget cycle, the administration shifted their budget reporting, presenting a more comprehensive document with much more data than was previously accessible. FAUW is looking for 1-2 volunteers to join a small committee thinking about how to further improve UW budget reporting, to make it easier to “follow the money” and help increase faculty members’ basic understanding and ability to engage with the University’s financial situation.
The first phase of this work is currently underway and hopes to wrap up this term in time for the 2026-27 budget reporting cycle.
What are the qualifications?
- Ability to analyze financial statements (preferably with accounting experience)
- Strong quantitative/mathematical modelling skills
- Knowledge of the University of Waterloo’s policies and governance structure
- Detail oriented and strategic
