The Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo welcomes Dr. Heather McNairn, Research Scientist at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada who will be presenting "Optical and Radar Satellites to Map and Monitor Canadian Agriculture: Current Activities and Future Opportunities"

2014-15 History Speaker Series continues with Mapping London's Global Hinterlands: Spatial Text Mining Eight Million Pages of Nineteenth Century Texts, presented by the University of Saskatchewan's Professor Jim Clifford.

Join us for a guest lecture by Dr.Trisalyn Nelson, head of
the Spatial Pattern Analysis and Research (SPAR) Lab at the
University of Victoria. Dr.Trisalyn Nelson is one of the leading
researchers at BikeMap.org, a project directed at tracking biking
trends and incidents using human sensors (such as yourself).

In preparation for the upcoming AGU conference in New Orleans, the Cryospheric Science Group of the Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change (IC³) is pleased to welcome Markus Todt, a PhD student at Northumbria University, to present his research at our seminar this month.  His presentation is entitled:

“Simulation of Longwave Enhancement beneath Montane and Boreal Forests in CLM4.5”

Abstract:

Wild weather round table talks: A special presentation and discussion about climate change in the Region of Waterloo, as well as across the globe. Hosted by the Waterloo Region Museum from 7-9pm, Thursday, March 22nd 2018. Regular admission fee to the museum applies ($11 Adults, $8 for students, $5 for children).
