This award is granted annually to the most outstanding students graduating in Geography honours/majors programmes at universities or colleges across Canada. Congratulations Amelia!
In collaboration with Dr. Johanna Wandel, Dr. Derek Robinson, Glenn Milner one of the (Department of Geography and Environmental Management's first Master’s of Climate Change students), and Christine Tu (TRCA) the group was awarded Mitacs funding to support Glenn in an 8 month internship working with the TRCA.
Aaron Thompson, a masters student in our department, was the winner of the Campbell Scientific Canada Award ($500) at the 71st Annual Eastern Snow Conference, held in North Carolina last week. This competitive award is presented to the author of a paper submitted by a Canadian student demonstrating the most innovative use of technology in the gathering of data.
The Department of Geography and Environmental Management is very pleased to announce that Andrei Balulescu, a masters student in our department, has been selected to receive the Lorne Russwurm Award for Outstanding Performance as a TA in the 2013-14 academic year.
At the recent CAG Annual Meeting, Francesca Cardwell, a Ph.D. candidate from the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, received the Student Presentation Award from the Geography of Health and Health Care Specialty Group.
We are seeking two PhD students with deep interests in geography, computer science, statistics, ecosystem modelling, or agent-based modelling to join our research team and model the ecological impacts of land use and land cover change.
