MKin Kinesiology (Coursework)

The Master of Kinesiology coursework program aims to advance knowledge in human health and movement science. Students will acquire knowledge in various aspects of health and human movement through a flexible, interdisciplinary course-based curriculum, as well as through a unique one-term program-relevant internship/experiential placement.

As a coursework MKin graduate, you will be well prepared to proceed on to further education, professional health care programs or work in the public or private sector. 

NOTE:Effective September 1, 2022, this program's name has changed. For those commencing the coursework program from Fall 2023, the degree conferred will be a Master's of Kinesiology (MKin).

MSc Kinesiology and Health Sciences (Thesis)

Thesis | Full-time or part-time | On campus

The Master of Science thesis program aims to advance knowledge in human health and movement sciences, and to foster a unique interdisciplinary research approach.  Course work and research is focused in three specialization areas: Biomechanics, Neuroscience, or Physiology and Nutrition.  You'll acquire knowledge to pursue research at a superior level, develop a facility with quantitative methods, and obtain an understanding of the components that together make up the multidiscipline of kinesiology.

As a thesis MSc graduate, you will be well-prepared to proceed on to doctoral studies, professional health care programs, or take higher standing positions in the private sector.

While completing your MSc or PhD Kinesiology and Health Sciences degree, you can also complete aeronautical training alongside CAP students from other fields. The CAP will uniquely equip the next generation of leaders with the interdisciplinary skills needed to align innovation with impact.

PhD Kinesiology and Health Sciences

 Thesis | Full-time or part-time | On campus 

In the Doctor of Philosophy program, you'll complete graduate level courses including cross-disciplinary seminars and specialized graduate research seminars, complete comprehensive examinations, conduct research and submit your work to peer reviewed presentations and publications. Course work and research is focused in three fields: Biomechanics, Neuroscience or Physiology and Nutrition.

Our students are known for achieving high levels of autonomy in design, conduct and interpretation of their research topics. As a graduate, you'll be well-positioned for a career in teaching, research or industry.

Collaborative PhD Aging, Health and Well-being

 Thesis | Full-time or part-time |  On campus  

The PhD in Aging, Health and Well-being provides you with an interdisciplinary platform upon which to develop a broad understanding of issues related to the health and well-being of our aging population.

You can register in any of the academic units in the Faculty of Health, including the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences, and access courses and resources across the Faculty, including dissertation committee members, who can add different perspectives to penetrating research problems.
