This workshop builds on “Getting Started with ArcGIS” (a recommended prerequisite for those with no previous GIS experience) but isn’t absolutely necessary.

This is an introduction ESRI's latest connected and optimized GIS software.

The workshop presents the same basic concepts of Getting Started with ArcGIS on the new Arc Pro platform

  • Understand what GIS is and geospatial data are
  • Navigate ArcGIS software and tools
  • Find and add data to a map
  • Discover information and attributes about the data
  • Produce a simple map that shares your visualization of the data

You may have heard of GIS, but what exactly is it, and more importantly, how can you use it in your own research and academic work?

This introductory workshop presents the basic concepts of GIS and will teach you the skills you need to find geospatial data, map it, and discover new dimensions of information.

June 23 is Let It Go Day; the perfect occasion to stop using energy on negativity from the past and instead focus on building yourself a positive future. Write down something that you regret, and spend some time letting it go.

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day and Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC) will be hosting the first ever on-campus event to celebrate. Cross the creek toward St. Paul's, find the new ceremonial fire ground, and shatitsirótha′ (pronounced sa-di-gee-row-da) - which means 'reignite the flame.' Celebrations will include a free BBQ, entertainment, children's activities, and vendor and information booths.

Each year, Camp Day raises money to send youth from low-income families in our community for a camp experience that builds lasting strengths and essential life skills.  On June 6, every penny from Tim Horton's coffee sales, as well as money raised through Camp Day bracelet sales, donations, special events and activities, is donated to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation.

This workshop will provide tips and practical experience on how to write an annotated bibliography, including using RefWorks to assist in its creation. A RefWorks account and basic knowledge of/experience with RefWorks is expected.
