The spring Stanford Fleming Foundation (SFF) Debate competition will be held on Thursday, July 29th starting at 5:30 p.m. (E.T.). The competition will be held online using MS Teams. All engineering students are eligible to participate. Engineering students are invited to register in teams of two. A team can consist of students from two different engineering disciplines if desired. No previous debating experience is necessary. Members of the winning team will receive $200 each and will be invited to represent the University of Waterloo at the Ontario Engineering Competition in January 2022 to be hosted by The University of Toronto. Members of the 2nd place team will receive $100 each and will be invited to represent the University of Waterloo at the Ontario Engineering Competition if the winning team is unable to compete.
Please register by e-mailing Jenny Howcroft (jenny.howcroft@uwaterloo.ca) by Wednesday, July 28th at Noon (E.T.). Please note that the competition will be limited to no more than 8 teams, so teams are encouraged to register early. Competitors will be provided with additional information on the competition format prior to the event.
