Countdown to Waterloo

Please review this timeline of deadlines and important dates. Please note that dates/deadlines are subject to change.

  1. 2024
    1. Jun
      1. Accept your offer by June 3

June 3, 2024, is the last day to accept your offer and begin studies in Fall (September) 2024.

      2. Submit your application for Campus Housing by June 3

Submit the First-Year Guarantee Residence application and non-refundable deposit by June 3, 2024, at 11.59 pm EDT. All students who submit this application along the deposit by the June 3rd deadline are guaranteed a spot in residence in first year. The application is the first step in the housing application process for the University of Waterloo.

There are opportunities for Math students to participate in Living-Learning Communities (LLC):

      3. Attend a course selection Webinar on June 13 or 14

Attend a course selection Webinar to answer some of your pressing questions. Two webinars will take place, with the first on Thursday, June 13, and the second on Friday, June 14. You should only attend one Webinar as the content will be the same for each session. An email with a registration link will be sent in early June to all students who have accepted their offers to Math for Fall 2024.

      4. Fall 2024 course selection begins on June 17

From 9 a.m. EDT on June 17, 2024, until 4:30 p.m. EDT on June 14, 2023, you will need to select your courses for Fall 2024 and choose which co-op sequence you wish to have (if applicable). Choosing your co-op sequence is first-come-first-served but course selection is not (you just need to complete it by the deadline!)

      5. Drop/Add period begins July 18

You can make changes to your schedule and electives in Quest during your appointment time between July 18 to July 23. Your appointment time is when adding/swapping/dropping courses can be done in Quest. For example, if your appointment time is 9 am on July 19 then you will be blocked from any enrolment activity in Quest until that time. If you miss your appointment time, do not worry as courses can be added, including swapping to a different section of the same course, until 11.59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

      6. Fall 2024 course selection ends on June 24

Wednesday, June 24, 2024, at 4.30 pm EDT is the deadline for the course and co-op sequence selection for Fall 2023.

If you miss this deadline, then you will be able to add courses yourself during the drop/add period from July 18 to July 23, 2024. It may be quite difficult to find classes with space so please be mindful of these deadlines.

    2. Aug
      1. Be 'Fees Arranged' by August 20

You need to be 'fees arranged' for your Fall 2024 tuition fees by August 20, 2024. Late fees will begin on August 21, 2024. If you have questions about your tuition fees then contact the Student Centre at askthecentre@uwaterloo.ca
