Current undergraduate students

Students are invited to apply to a Undergraduate Research Assistantship (URA) for the Fall 2019 term. Applications must be submitted to the Dean of Engineering Office in PSE 7302 by 4:30pm on Friday, September 20, 2019 in order to be considered.

A Universal and Reconfigurable Approach to Any Multi-axle Vehicle Dynamics Control

Gary Zhang, MVS Lab, Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering

Biography: Gary is currently a 3rd year Ph.D. candidate in MME at the University of Waterloo. He is working at the Mechatronic Vehicle Systems Lab under the supervision of Dr. Amir Khajepour.  His research interests include vehicle dynamics, reconfigurable control and optimization, and automated driving.

Teams have each chosen an important industry problem, and will now pitch their research to a panel of judges for a chance to win up to $30k in grant funding. The 5-minute pitches will demonstrate each competitor’s knowledge of their problem’s history, scope, and impact.

This year's activities will include a colour throw (wear a white t-shirt!), BBQ featuring the famous 'Boggan Burgers, free treats and refreshments including purple Koolaid as well as soft-serve ice cream and popcorn, a photo booth, The Tool and The Tool Bearers, and so much more!
