MME alum awarded $50,000 scholarship in memory of December 6 victims

A mechatronics alumnus who is building a career in national defence and avionics has won a $50,000 scholarship to pursue further graduate studies.  

Megan Chang (BASc ‘25) was one of the 14 female winners through a nationwide program created to remember the 14 women murdered at École Polytechnique.  

Chang has always wanted to fly planes, and while at the University of Waterloo, she led the Waterloo Space Research team in microgravity research and development through the National Research Council and the Canadian Space Agency.  

Winners were selected by the Deans of six Canadian engineering faculties, including Dr. Mary Wells at the University of Waterloo.
