Every year, the Faculty of Engineering recognizes the exceptional performance of its staff and faculty and their commitment to teaching and making sure our departments and the learning environment for our students and researchers are at the forefront of everything they do. This year, it was a night of celebration for colleagues marking significant years of service, recognizing the incredible research going on, and awarding our team members at the prestigious Engineering Awards Dinner.
This year, the following members from the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering were honoured at the awards ceremony held on campus.
Dr. Arash Arami received the Faculty Research Excellence Award for his dedication to the research of human neuromechanical, human-robot interaction, and intelligent wearable systems—just to name a few of his research areas. In addition, Arami also received the Outstanding Performance Award, which rewards faculty members for their excellent contributions in scholarship and teaching.
Neil Griffett, our Electronics Technician within our technical team, was granted the Outstanding Staff Performance Award.
Plus, even more of our professors were also recognized for external and internal awards:
Dr. Ehsan Toyserkani, Fellow, Canadian Academy of Engineering and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair from NSERC
Dr. Mihaela Vlasea, Tier 2 Canada Research Chair from NSERC
Dr. Cecile Devaud, Outstanding Performance Award
Dr. David Mather, Outstanding Performance Award
Congratulations to this year’s award winners, and thank you for everything you do for our department to make it a great place to work, research, and learn.
