Noon Hour Concert: Love Lies Sleeping

This concert features violinists Adam Diderrich and Marcus Scholtes,  violist Ethan Filner, cellist Rebecca Morton, and clarinetist  Barbara Hankins.

Haydn's String Quartet Op 20, No 5 will open the concert, followed by American composer Dan Coleman's Quintet. Each movement of this  work borrows its title from a poem by Elizabeth Bishop, and was inspired by the sounds, rhythms, emotions and imagery found in her  work. Mark Vuorinen will read the poems.

The concert will conclude  with the lively Rondo from Carl Maria von Weber's Quintet for  clarinet and strings.

UWaterloo Balinese Gamelan Concert

dancer & gamelanDirected by Dr. Maisie Sum and featuring Grebel Artist-in-Residence I Dewa Made Suparta, the UW Balinese Gamelan and the Grebel Community Gamelan will perform a mix of contemporary pieces and traditional classics.  Come find out why people who love music are fascinated by the gamelan.
