A person stands at a podium with a microphone in a bright building lobby decorated with large floral wall art. A University of Waterloo banner reading “Innovating Pharmacy Together” is positioned beside the podium. In the background, a group of people stands near a staircase, facing the speaker. Gold balloon letters forming “PAM” and two heart-shaped balloons are displayed behind the group near the reception desk. Two elevators and wall-mounted plaques are visible along the back wall.

Pharmacy Appreciation Month 2026: PharmacistsCAN

Join us in celebrating our pharmacy teams during Pharmacy Appreciation Month (PAM) with the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) this March.

CPhA hosts the national campaign to shine a spotlight on pharmacy every year and Canadians coast to coast celebrate the important contributions that pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy students have made to the health of their patients.

This year’s theme, PharmacistsCAN: a national campaign to help governments and the public better understand what pharmacists are trained to do – and why fully enabling pharmacists across Canada can improve access to care for patients.

This year, CPhA has released the National Benchmark for Pharmacy Practice, a novel reference that highlights health-care services pharmacists are educated to provide, beyond the traditional pharmacist role.

Discover how our pharmacy students, faculty and alumni are helping to meet our growing health-care needs and meeting patients where help is needed most:

Our Waterloo School of Pharmacy students have set up many events throughout the month to bring awareness to the future of pharmacy.

The range of events and initiatives include a kickoff event at the School, celebrating International Women’s Day, lunch and learns, elementary school presentations, networking opportunities and interprofessional education sessions for students, and more.

Take a moment this month to thank your pharmacist, pharmacy technician and pharmacy student.
