$12 million awarded to Waterloo researchers

Four University of Waterloo researchers have been awarded more than $12 million through the Ontario Research Fund: Research Excellence.

The recipients are:

Arts

Wendi Adair (Psychology) – Reconciliation in the workplace: Creating cultures of trust via effective communication, building relationships, and a climate for cultural safety for Indigenous employees in Ontario and Canada ($1,000,000)

Engineering

Safieddin Safavi-Naeini (Electrical and Computer Engineering) – Intelligent Antenna and Radio Technologies for Emerging Millimeter-wave Systems ($4,000,000)

Hamid Tizhoosh (Systems Design Engineering) – Computational Peer Review through Identification and Captioning of Gigapixel Digital Pathology Scans ($3,141,681)

Science

David Blowes (Earth and Environmental Sciences) – Integrated tools and technologies for environmentally responsible management of metal-bearing wastes ($4,000,000)
