"You are never a perfect rider, you always have something to learn, no matter how talented or experienced you are.” – Delaney, AFM student
As I saw a curious bunch of newly admitted students at You @ Waterloo Day, I was reminded of myself four years ago when I was also trying to make that same perplexing decision of which university and program to enroll in.
My name is Jared, and I am a 3rd year student in the Accounting and Financial Management program at the University of Waterloo. This term I signed up to be an upper-year mentor, and I just thought that I would share my experiences with the role.
When I saw the opportunity to be an upper-year mentor this term with the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF), I knew I had to take it.
My name is Linda, and I am a third-year Math/CPA student. Today, I’m here to talk about the importance of work-life balance while at university. We all know that it’s impossible to foresee everything. In some courses here at the University of Waterloo, you’ll learn about something called risk—the effect of uncertainty on desired outcomes. Admittedly, the Student Venture Fund (SVF) is one of those courses where you really should care about the negatives of risk. However, the Fund itself very much represented the opposite for me.
I was selected as one of 50 student finalists to participate in the CEOx1Day Future Leaders Summit! I had the unique opportunity to learn business and leadership skills from top Canadian executives.
