You @ Waterloo Day, our first in-person event of the year, was a unique and fun event for students who received an offer of admission to the University of Waterloo. Students and their guests were able to explore campus and receive the information they need to make an informed decision about their future at the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF).
As I saw a curious bunch of newly admitted students at You @ Waterloo Day, I was reminded of myself four years ago when I was also trying to make that same perplexing decision of which university and program to enroll in. For myself, and most students, this remains a daunting task. And so, I was inspired by the many prospective students who came to You @ Waterloo Day to seek help in making that decision - eager to learn more about campus, student life and academics.
Since I had a role in planning You @ Waterloo Day this year as a co-op student with the SAF, I will highlight some of the benefits of attending this event. You @ Waterloo Day is an exclusive event for students with an offer of admission to help get them acquainted with life at UWaterloo. It is a day that gives students insight into what they can expect through campus tours as well as meet-and-greets with professors, current students and staff members.
During this annual event, I highly recommend that attendees meet current SAF students to get their burning questions answered and to get comfortable with picturing themselves thriving as part of the SAF and UWaterloo community. For students, attending You @ Waterloo Day is an excellent way to bring clarity to one of life’s biggest decisions.
