Strategic Communications & Content Requests

Do you have an exciting initiative that needs communications support?

The Marketing and Communications team is here to help amplify your projects, and choosing the right starting point makes all the difference. Sharing information in this form provides our team with the required context to collaborate with you on a tailored project brief and timeline, ensuring your message reaches your audience at the right time.

When to use this form

This request form is designed for multi-faceted initiatives and storytelling campaigns, rather than standalone updates or daily logistics.

  • Strategic campaigns & launches: Promoting new programs, major initiatives, recruitment campaigns or flagship events (e.g., competitions, conferences).

  • Website content refreshes: Webpages that need a structural overhaul, a fresh look and/or updated messaging.

  • News story ideas: Pitching feature stories for the SAF website, ranging from faculty research breakthroughs to student achievements or alumni success milestones.

  • Student blogs: Proposing student-authored blog series, reflections, or recurring features that highlight student life and learning experiences.

  • Coordinated promotional initiatives: Projects requiring multi-channel promotion across web, social media, email marketing, photography and videography.

Have a different type of request?

For smaller requests or standalone tasks, you can use one of these methods to make sure your request goes to the right place:

  • Single social media posts: Use our quick-submission form for individual, standalone social posts rather than full campaigns (e.g. a single post to promote an upcoming event or sharing ready-to-post content.)

  • Event bookings and equipment loans: Use the event submission form to share details about your upcoming event and request assistance with planning, bookings, and to request borrowing physical items like branded banners, tablecloths or displays.

  • Routine website maintenance: For minor text updates, fixing broken links or updating staff directories, please route these standard edits through your usual web support workflow instead.

  • SAF digital screens: For information you would like displayed on TV screens around Hagey Hall, please route these through your usual workflow instead.

Strategic communications principle

To achieve the greatest impact, the Marketing and Communications team evaluates each request through a strategic lens to determine the most effective channel, format and approach based on:

  • Goal alignment: How the initiative supports SAF’s brand and strategic priorities.
  • Audience and impact: Where your target audience is most engaged.
  • Timing and resources: Team bandwidth and optimal release schedules.
  • Equitable coverage: Ensuring balanced promotion across all SAF programs and areas.

Strategic communication channels may include social media, website stories, email newsletters, photography, videography or other supporting formats.
