The office of the Secretariat is pleased to announce that Kathy Winter will assume the role of Privacy Officer and Assistant University Secretary effective 8 September 2017. Kathy has worked at the University for 17 years in Counselling Services and Health Services. A licensed clinical psychologist, Kathy brings to her new role a strong foundation of experience in matters related to privacy and access to information.
This is to inform you that the Responsible Investing Working Group, constituted by the Board of Governors, is now in place and has held its first meeting. The terms of reference for the working group is provided below.
Effective January, 2017, the Secretariat & Office of General Counsel were divided into two distinct offices. At the time of the division, the Policy Renewal Project (the Project) was put on hold in order to allow the offices time to adjust to the split.
The Project is back, with the Secretariat continuing to manage the library of policies, procedures and guidelines across the University.
New policy, Policy 53 – Environmental Sustainability
On 23 March 2017, the President approved the new Policy 53 – Environmental Sustainability.
Development of Policy 53 was initiated by the President’s Advisory Committee on Environmental Sustainability (PACES), the committee that represents a cross-section of Waterloo stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff and administration, to provide advice to the president on campus sustainability programs and policies.
