Director term of Office: 2022–2025
Pronouns: she/they
Contact for: Governance matters, Staff Excellence Fund ideas, or an informal chat about getting involved with your UWSA!
Reason for running: While my 10+ years as a Waterloo employee have been engaging and rewarding, serving the UWSA as President-elect – President – Past President (2019-2022) offered an amazing opportunity to learn and grow. I learned about the UWSA, issues facing staff, and how the university functions. I also developed my own anti-racist practice while supporting the UWSA’s work to foster diversity and champion equity across our workplace. And I established a solid understanding of effective board governance. I ran for the Board so I can apply the knowledge and experience I’ve gained by continuing to serve.
Vision for UWSA: I care about the people who make up our campus and I’m driven to make things better. To me, this means ensuring that the UWSA’s work adopts antiracist, decolonial, and anti-oppressive approaches. It’s the only way to ensure that we’re in a strong position to advocate for improved working conditions while providing staff with exceptional services and supports.
Education/Career highlights:
- Waterloo Arts Grad (1999)

- Leadership Essentials Program (2018)

Interests beyond campus: When I’m not at work or seeing to UWSA matters, I run a small business with my partner, I keep bees, and I spend as much time outdoors as possible!
