About Alyssa: I am currently an Industry Strategist with Co-operative Education at Waterloo and have been a UWaterloo staff member since 2018. In addition to Co-op, I've worked in both Engineering and the Office of Research. I’m also a proud alumna of Waterloo (Honours BSc in Biology) and hold a Master’s of Environmental Sciences from Guelph. Prior Waterloo, I spent most of my career in environmental consulting. Outside of work, I have two sons that keep me very busy with all their activities. And whenever I have a spare moment you can usually find me with my head in a book (or an audiobook in my ears).

Reason for running: I’ve experienced firsthand the incredible guidance and support that UWSA provides, and I am eager to give back by supporting our staff community and advocating for our collective needs. My goals as President will be to advocate for fair compensation, be a champion for equity, and promote a respectful workplace where everyone can feel safe and perform at their best.

Vision for UWSA: My vision for the UWSA is to build a supportive, transparent, and inclusive environment where every staff member feels valued and empowered to thrive within our university community. I hope to work together to find opportunities for positive change that will elevate staff voices and shape the future of UWaterloo.
